Brief Guidelines:-
Intended purpose for your security camera:
Does your CCTV system need to simply monitor one narrow spot or a wider area? Does it need to sweep in an arc or even have full manual remote control functionality allowing 360% visibility with auto-focusing zoom lenses? You may even want audio capabilities, as is becoming popular in city centres
Intended location of security camera:
Do you want the CCTV camera to be a highly visible deterrent or a very discreet system? Is it open to the elements and therefore needs to be water proof or is in it an area where to survive it needs to be vandal proof or maybe even bullet proof?
Available light in this location:
Will Your CCTV camera have a constant light source or will it need to be able to adapt to poor light conditions as well? Look at our cameras section to see which works best in each situation. You may need to think about installing extra security lighting too.
Your CCTV recording needs:
What are your CCTV image storage capacity requirements and how many security cameras have you got feeding images back? Depending on your needs you may need to invest in a DVR instead of the original non digital formats.
